Sunday, Dec 11, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Free DVD showing, silent sitting, dialogue, and refreshments.
Facilitator:  David Bruneau

These meetings on the second Sunday of the month from 2:00 to 5:00 pm are sponsored by the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada.  J. Krishnamurti, the world-renowned 20th century philosopher and educator, has written and lectured extensively on relevant subjects such as freedom, love, truth, and meditation.  His ability to tackle these themes with great honesty and insight has helped many to see themselves and the world around them in a new way. The focus is on self understanding through self inquiry and includes contemporary teachers other than Krishnamurti.  The gatherings will include a short video clip of “K” speaking on a chosen topic, a printed handout from his book “Freedom From the Known”, which will be read at the meeting, and a group discussion. This type of discussion is seen by some as purposeful awareness of the goings on of the mind while a chosen topic is being looked at. This allows us to listen to others and observe ourselves in the process of discovering each subject anew and with clarity, as though encountering it and ourselves for the first time, and to share our spontaneous insight as it arises… Thus, this is an invitation to learn about ourselves and to act on our new discoveries.  There will be a short break for refreshments and then a video will be shown of another spiritual teacher such as Eckhart Tolle, Mooji, Rupert Spira, or Scott Kiloby – the specific person may vary each time – speaking on the same subject.  Finally, there will be another opportunity for group dialogue as time allows.  There is no charge for these events.

Sunday November 6, 1:30-4:30 p.m.
Becoming the Word: A Movement and Vocal Workshop for Writers with Maggi Feehan and Kim Goodliffe

The written word moves from our imagination to the page in a silent process with its own codes and pleasures. The spoken word is expressed publicly, allowing us to hear ourselves, to ride the rhythm. For some, this bridge between the written and the spoken word can be fascinating and fun, while for others it may be vulnerable and frightening.

Come explore how you open and close to the movements and shapes that your words may take. Through explorations in vocal improvisation, sensuous language, witnessing ourselves and others, playing with rhythm, following the lead of our bodies, we allow the words that only we can offer in the moment, to move and flow through us.

Bring a writing inspiration to explore with the aid of your body – from a work in progress, a line that lingers, a blossoming poem or a story that only you can tell.

Maggi Feehan (MA) is a Counsellor, currently in training with Open Floor International, and the author of The Serpent’s Veil  (Thistledown Press).

Kim Goodliffe (MFA) is a VoiceWorks teacher (SoundBody Studio,Victoria) and the author of Lowballer  (Demeter Press).

Sacred Ceremony (Puja) To Balance the Masculine and Feminine Energies for Personal and World Healing-With Ramana

The reunion of Shiva and Parvati, after eons of separation, symbolizes the perfect merging of Divine feminine and masculine energies. On this Indian sacred festival day, Hariyali Teej, this reunion is honored. The holy mountain Arunachla (Shiva) is considered by most of South India to be the physical embodiment of this union.

This holy day is an auspicious and powerful day for transformation, where the depth of silence merges with the infinite heart of consciousness.

It will be an opportunity for deep healing, where all is absorbed in the silence of the heart.

Ramana will be your guide for this sacred ceremony.

It will be an evening of devotion and complete surrender to love.

Please bring a flower as an offering to Lakshmi and Arunachala Shiva.

Suggested donation: $15 20% of proceeds go to the India School Supplies trust.

Gain clarity about your inspired work

Each of us wants to live a life of meaning and make a valuable contribution by doing work we love. To do work you love, it has to be in alignment with your life purpose, vision, and mission.
Without clarity about these guiding principles, you likely feel lost. To gain clarity about the real work you are here to do, you must know exactly who you are and what it is you have to offer the world.

Your inspired work is the work that is the truest expression of who you are. So the question is… who are you? What are you here to do? What are your unique gifts? What is the path to your inspired work?

Join this 2-hour introductory class to explore these questions and learn what you can do to create work in alignment with who you really are.

Everyone welcome!

Sunday, July 10, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Wanderlust: Songs of Travel, Solitude and Homecoming with mezzo-soprano Elisabeth Wagner, pianist Charlotte Hale and actor Trevor Hinton

Wanderlust — the yearning to travel, to discover new places and cultures, to find inner peace. And yet, home calls us back, especially when loved ones await.
This recital program integrates a set of readings from the poetry and prose of early 20th Century poet, Rainer Maria Rilke. A romantic spirit, Rilke grew up in Prague and in his adult life travelled to Russia (to meet Tolstoy), Paris (where he was secretary to Rodin), Spain, and Italy, among others. He died in Switzerland in 1926 at the age of 51.

Songs are by Vaughan-Williams, Dvorak, Schubert and others, with some Spanish songs and more contemporary songs too.

Tickets are $15 at the door.

Dreams are the “royal road to the unconscious”!  You may choose to bring a dream with you either in memory or writing! The intention for two day event is to teach you to ways to work with your dreams, dream recall and creativity!

Dreams have changed my life, led to the healing of lifelong clinical depression as well as the creation of a deep feminine consciousness. After the death of my husband and retirement, I completed my Ph.D, The Apple and the Talking Snake:  Feminist dream reading and subjunctive curriculum.  I used my own dreams as data in the study and analysis of Carol Shields award winning novel, Unless. Unless becomes an archetypal symbol of Maiden, Mother and crone when read as a dream.  Please join us! You can read about me  at www.dreamsalongtheway.com and click ABOUT.

Workshop cost is $120 payable via cash, cheque or interac.

Sunday, February 14, 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Conscious Aging ~A Workshop on Conscious Living Facilitated by Joy Emmanuel
This experiential workshop is an invitation to give ourselves the gift of reflective, sacred time to be present to the shifts, challenges and insights of this third phase of our life journey.  Through guided meditation, life review and visionary exercises, sacred dance, sharing circles and transformative practices, there will be opportunities to reframe the internalized messages around what it means to age in our society and reconnect more fully with the deep soul work we came here to do. Exploring possibilities for individual and spiritual growth we will create spaces for bringing our life wisdom and gifts more fully into the world. This will be a time to honour the darkness and the light in the transcendent dance of being spirit on a human journey of Awakening. Drawing on the work of such spiritual teachers as Ram Dass, Barbara Marx Hubbard, Joanna Macy, and my own journey of self-discovery we will explore the richness of the spiritual journey in the later stage of life through the lens of conscious aging.

Unleash Your Passion, Creativity and Highest Potential

If you have had a deep desire to live in a way you believe would truly fulfill you but it hasn’t come to pass, don’t miss this day where you will access your truest nature – your creativity. As humans, we have a natural instinct to create and when that instinct closes down, a big part of us dies. This is a day to love and release the parts of you that have held you back from freely giving your inborn gifts to yourself, your loved ones and your business. As you align with your Highest Wisdom, you will see that you ARE that wisdom which is available to you in every breath. You will be inspired to step up and step into the YOU that has been awaiting your arrival.  You will also have the opportunity to join a 13-Week “Let Your Light Shine” program that will keep you on track as you live your passion out loud!

Junie Swadron is a psychotherapist, playwright, writing coach and author of Re-Write Your Life. June Swadron is both a guide and a muse. Dubblespoor: works for harpsichord and piano
presented by Open Space Arts Society

Featuring Katelyn Clark (harpsichord) and Luciane Cardassi (piano), this concert is a remarkable program of new music inspired by Louis Andriessen’s monumental 1986 composition Dubblespoor, meaning double track. The project explores the unusual combination of harpsichord and piano, presenting Andriessen’s work alongside Canadian compositions written for the same instrumentation including Christopher Butterfields’s Souvenir and Linda Catlin Smith’s Brocade (2013). The project also includes Saariaho’s groundbreaking Jardin Secret II.

Tickets are available in advance and at the door.
