Friday, December 1, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (DATE CHANGE!)
Free DVD showings, silent sitting and dialogue.
Facilitator: David Bruneau
These meetings, now on the first Friday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, are sponsored by the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada. J. Krishnamurti, the world-renowned 20th century philosopher and educator, has written and lectured extensively on relevant subjects such as freedom, love, truth, and meditation. His ability to tackle these themes with great honesty and insight has helped many to see themselves and the world around them in a new way. The focus is on self understanding through self inquiry and includes contemporary teachers other than Krishnamurti. The gatherings will include a short video clip of “K” speaking on a chosen topic, a printed handout from his book “Freedom From the Known”, which will be read at the meeting, and a group discussion. In this type of discussion, purposeful awareness of the goings on of the mind is suggested while a chosen topic is being looked at. This allows us to listen to others and observe ourselves in the process of discovering each subject anew and with clarity, as though encountering it and ourselves for the first time, and to share our spontaneous insight as it arises… Thus, this is an invitation to learn about ourselves and to act on our new discoveries. Then a video will be shown of another spiritual teacher such as Eckhart Tolle, Mooji, Rupert Spira, or Scott Kiloby – the specific person may vary each time – speaking on the same subject. Finally, there will be another opportunity for group dialogue as time allows. There is no charge for these events.

Winter SOULstice: The Nature of Wild Food & Sacred Sound
Nature’s Chef & Light of Sound
Join us for this powerful SOULstice celebration remembering the light as we bath in the darkness of the night on the shortest day of the year, connecting with each other over wildcrafted food and sacred sound vibration. This has been an incredible year and we intend to celebrate our collective evolution and honour this passage into 2018.
Since the beginning of time, our human evolution has developed from pure sound vibration and wild foods. Join us for a magical experience of dinner and sacred sounds within the Church of Truth as we journey through the senses.
Nature’s Chef, Tom Kral will create a local-wild-holistic feast. This meal will be plant-based and gluten-free with a wild seafood and sourdough option. After dinner, to soothe our digestion, sound healing practitioner, Astaria, Light of Sound, will lead us through a magical Harmonic Sound Journey.
Music and sound has the unique ability to cultivate a sense of love, peacefulness, and clarity throughout every cell in the body, whilst bringing one into alignment with truth, higher consciousness, and connection with the Divine. Sound Vibration allows the body to entrain to a higher frequency, creating space for self-healing, heightened awareness, and remembrance of one’s truest form.

Lessons from the Pachamana Alliance – FACILITATORS: Michael Tacon and Chris Bullock
“Lessons from the Pachamama Alliance” is a shortened version of the Pachamama Symposium, with some discussion also – thanks to material supplied by Linda Chan—of an unique training course, “Game Changer Intensive” which the Pachamama Alliance developed to prepare people to engage in effective action in the world.
Please register by writing to: chrisbullock@shaw.ca
For More Information: call/text Linda at 250-380-6383
About the Pachamama Alliance: The Pachamama Alliance was founded in response to an appeal from the Achuar, an indigenous group in the Amazon rain forest, for help in protecting their lands. The Achuar insisted that the most lasting help they could receive would be if the Alliance worked to change the misguided “dream of the Western world.” To work on this change, the Alliance evolved the Pachamama Symposium, a hard-hitting program using research, video material and participant discussion to explain how environmental disaster, social injustice and spiritual emptiness are linked in the “dream,” and to explore how to move to a world based on spiritual fulfilment, environmental sustainability, and social and economic justice.
For More info: https://www.pachamama.org/
About Michael Tacon and Chris Bullock, Facilitators:
Michael is strongly committed to finding ways to meet the challenges of a rapidly changing world in a positive and constructive way through his work with the Sooke Transition Town Initiative and his work as a facilitator with the Pachamama Alliance. He currently lives in Harbourside, a Cohousing community for seniors, in Sooke.
Chris finds his inspiration in poetry, hiking, men’s groups, compassionate communication, and a spirituality based on the discovery of the radiance of everyday life, and the connection of all beings. He finds the Pachamama Alliance’s linking of environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfilment to be an important part of the way forward in these troubled times.
COST: $15 donation. Some snacks and refreshments but bring a lunch.
This event is a fundraiser for the Church of Truth.

Friday, May 5, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm (DATE CHANGE!)

Public talk by William Meader, international spiritual wisdom teacher (author of “Shine Forth – The Soul’s Magical Destiny”)
“Death: The Great Adventure”
To those who live spiritually, death is understood as a beginning, not an end. Yet there are few who know death as a great adventure, and who truly understand the deeper processes of death, as the soul seeks to begin its liberation from form. In this presentation, death will be examined from the esoteric point of view. The nature of the “second death” will be discussed, as well as the after death experience known as Devachan. In addition, reincarnation will be examined.

‘Speak To Me Like You Love Me’ – Foundations of Nonviolent Communication with Rachelle Lamb
Explore a revolutionary approach to speaking up, establishing rapport and resolving differences. Radically shift your experience of communication with this liberating, transformational and dynamic practice rooted in spiritual and emotional intelligence. Break through limiting thought and speech patterns established through social conditioning, and replace them with a powerful way of communicating that is deeply satisfying, life honouring and creatively liberating. Come with an open mind so you can experience the power of vibrant, authentic connection with those you love, those you don’t love, and the living world that sustains you.
‘Speak to me like you love me’ is a workshop title that acknowledges the need we have as human beings to know that we matter to others, beyond the romantic or intimate sense. We can learn to overcome enculturated habits in our language that tragically normalize alienating and ‘power over’ ways of relating with each other. This workshop is intended for anyone willing to do the work to significantly enhance and transform personal and professional relationships. It is intended for all possessed by a longing to learn how to speak their way towards a better day. It is for artists, dreamers, lovers, couples, creatives, educators, counsellors, leaders, managers, parents, mediators and those committed to personal and social change.
