Brethren Breathwork: Connecting in the Male Mode of Feeling. Resented by Vital by Design

This is an event for men. A closed space to come together and connect in the male mode of feeling. We bring an essence of myth, story and masculine themes to the gathering in which we will explore the layers of male conditioning, wounding and emotional armoring. Through movement, stories, sharing, and breathwork we will activate the energy within us and allow wounds, stories and traumas to emerge.

Register in advance to reserve a spot.

An evening of sonatas- Come and enjoy an enchanting evening of classical music. All pieces on the program are flute sonatas. A sonata is a composition for an instrumental soloist, often with a piano accompaniment, in several movements. The purpose of the concert is to show the true variety in musical styles (from baroque to 20th century tonal music) while staying in a constant form. A lot of virtuosity and beauty can be found in the repertoire that will be performed.   See you on November 10th.

Community Grief Ritual, facilitated by Shauna Janz, MA (www.shaunajanz.com)

During this 3-hour experience, we will explore the soulful necessity of being in touch with our pain, whether it be grief for personal loss or the cultural wounding so prevalent in our times (racism, colonialism, environmental destruction etc). Within the ritual container of community, we will tend our grief as a way to fuel our continued vitality. All forms of grief is welcomed here.

The afternoon will consist of Council practice, personal reflection through writing, small group sharing, song, and a collective grief ritual around the community altar. The structure of this offering draws from the wisdom and lessons learned from ritual practitioners Daniel Foor, Francis Weller and Malidoma Some.

The effect of his music has been compared to sacred plant medicines.

“Words seem so deficient for explaining the depth of experience we all felt… I was being moved by sound, my whole body was light and vibrating.” – Vancouver Yoga Review

Imagine floating in an ocean of cosmic sound… vibration so profound it seems to take on qualities of form, texture and color. It’s hard to believe these tones come from a human. The harmonic overtones of his voice resonate the core of your being, creating a sonic environment that dissolves the boundaries of space/time and allows direct experience of the oneness of all things.

Wed. Oct 31, 8 – 10 pm All Hallow’s Eve Celebration

Our Community of Conscious Living Women’s Circle invites Goddesses, Gods, Nature Spirits, Druids and such to join with us in celebrating a more traditional All Hallow’s Eve. In ancient times, this day signified the end of harvest and the beginning of the darker half of the year, when the departed and the saints (hallows) were remembered. The boundary between this world and the Otherworlds could more easily be crossed by spirits and souls of the dead.

The mystery, myth and magic of ancient customs will be brought alive with guising/mumming (disguises, costumes, face paint), divination stations and oracle cards, poetry, art, a candlelit sacred space, feasting and dancing.

Join us and bring a finger-food snack and nature objects for the alter/centerpiece!

The Spiritual Call – Presented by International Spiritual Teacher William Meader

Around the world, spiritually minded people are rising to THE CALL to transform the human condition. Such people are “change agents” in support of the evolution of Spirit. They represent a force destined to bring spiritual light to humanity. Yet, more than ever, various internal obstacles hinder change agents from truly rising to their soul’s calling. In this presentation, we shall examine the nature of THE CALL as it manifests within consciousness. In addition, various psychological hindrances will be examined, as well as techniques to overcome them.

William Meader has been a teacher and author of the Ageless Wisdom for over 20 years. William’s passion is to teach people the deeper implications of modern spiritual development and the means to express the soul more effectively in the outer world. He regularly teaches in North America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

The Wesak Full Moon Meditation – Presented by David Zunker

At the exact moment of the Sun in Taurus, Moon in Scorpio Full Moon the Buddha and Jesus the Christ come together with other Ascended Masters, Bodhisattvas, Angels, Spiritual Beings, and Astral Pilgrims to bring the Earth and all of Humanity an annual infusion of Higher Spiritual Energy and Love. In the astral Shambhala/Shangrila a convergence of spiritual energies brings healing and spiritual vigour to our planet.

Wesak is seen as the Buddha’s Birthday and an important holiday for the Buddhist Religion. Mme. H. Blavatsky and Alice A. Bailey have written how this Full Moon is important to the spiritual life of Earth and her Humans. Join me and my friends as we take this opportunity to include you in our Wesak Full Moon Meditation. The results are always clear and dramatic.

I use Hermetic Ceremonial Magic techniques to establish a safe and energized circle. I will provide a method using the breath and visualization (the Middle Pillar Exercise, Western Yoga) to energize each individual participant and provide each with their astral vehicle (merkabah), as we “launch” to the Wesak Experience at the precise time of the Full Moon.

Admission is a sliding scale donation of suggested $5 to $20.

Saturday March 31st 1:30-3:30 p.m.
Paul Hedderman: Travelling Lighter

Known for his animated and engaging delivery (with occasional salty language!), Paul has been leading workshops and holding talks for the last 18 years throughout the US and Europe on the topics of spirituality, recovery and non-dual awareness.  His talks are honest, dynamic invitations to recognize the wholeness of what we truly are – by virtue of seeing clearly what we are not. He cuts straight to the dilemma of human existence, exposing the futility of seeking contentment in self-centeredness. With his trademark frankness and humor, he shares his insights regarding addiction, recovery, non-duality and the mechanics of misery and happiness – and will respond to any questions you may bring.

Suggested donation of $10-$15, but no one turned away for lack of funds.

Clarity Breathwork involves a deep rhythmic breath combined with selected music to move into deeper emotions of pain and sorrow. By using the breath, we work with the body to release emotions that have been trapped by conditioning, and coping mechanisms. Open up to the depth of your being and allow clarity to come in!

Friday, January 5, 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Free DVD showings, silent sitting and dialogue.
Facilitator:  David Bruneau

These meetings, now on the first Friday of the month from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, are sponsored by the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada.  J. Krishnamurti, the world-renowned 20th century philosopher and educator, has written and lectured extensively on relevant subjects such as freedom, love, truth, and meditation.  His ability to tackle these themes with great honesty and insight has helped many to see themselves and the world around them in a new way. The focus is on self understanding through self inquiry and includes contemporary teachers other than Krishnamurti.  The gatherings will include a short video clip of “K” speaking on a chosen topic, a printed handout from his book “Freedom From the Known”, which will be read at the meeting, and a group discussion. In this type of discussion, purposeful awareness of the goings on of the mind is suggested while a chosen topic is being looked at. This allows us to listen to others and observe ourselves in the process of discovering each subject anew and with clarity, as though encountering it and ourselves for the first time, and to share our spontaneous insight as it arises… Thus, this is an invitation to learn about ourselves and to act on our new discoveries. Then a video will be shown of another spiritual teacher such as Eckhart Tolle, Mooji, Rupert Spira, or Scott Kiloby – the specific person may vary each time – speaking on the same subject.  Finally, there will be another opportunity for group dialogue as time allows.  There is no charge for these events.
