Meditation Circle

Meditation Circle:  Opening Up to Meditation

Most of us agree with the world’s wisdom masters that regular meditation, prayer or quiet reflection are an essential foundation of “conscious living”. Meditation clearly resonated with many people who attended the Wed., Mar. 30 Talking Circle on “Future Visions for Oneness Wednesdays”. Our President, Brian Martin, spoke compellingly of a Meditation Circle as the important opportunity for our community to co-create unity through group soul.  Meditation creates a unified vision of our selves in the becoming…whole, radiating joy, and celebrating  family in the oneness of all.

In the month of May, we will have an experiential meditation circle where attendees will have an opportunity to participate in a Meditation Circle.

The format of May 4th Oneness Wednesday evening will be:

7:00 p.m.                            Opening and Introduction of the Meditation Circle
7:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.        Silent Group Meditation
7:45 p.m. to 8:20 p.m.        Circle Discussion
8:20 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.        Closing of the Meditation Circle

Blossoms and leaves – nurturing our community

In March the Oneness Wednesdays provide us with ample opportunity to explore the potential that our COT, Community of Conscious Living holds for us. What works well? What can be improved? How can we serve your needs better? How can you bring in your gifts and talents? What are your questions and insights?
Please come and join us in exploring those questions in the sacred space that we hold together and that can be the birthplace for a more vibrant and alive future for our community.

The evenings will be facilitated by Sanjara Omoniyi, who serves currently as the president, and members of the board and SDC (Spiritual Directions Committee).

March 2

COT, Community of Conscious Living -Who are we and where are we going

Come and join us for an evening of reflection and inspiration regarding our Community of Conscious living, known as the Church of Truth. This evening is an invitation for you to get a deeper understanding of this unique community and provide you with an overview about who we are and how we got there. This will be followed by a talking circle that is meant to stir the pot and start the creative process of exploring new potentials.

March 9, March 16, March 23,

Deepening our connection – strengthening our community

The CoT Community of Conscious Living is a participatory community that welcomes you and needs you. Your thoughts, feedback, input and participation is what nourishes and strengthens our net of interconnectedness.

Being together in community holds potentials for our individual and collective growth and provides us with challenges for our individual and collective growth as well.

On these three Wednesday evenings, March 9, 16 and 23, we invite you to join our circle and deepen our exploration. We want to bring forth fruitful ideas that will lead to concrete actions. Strengthening our connection will help us grow and blossom individually and as a community.

The Talking Circle:  “Personal Spiritual Steppingstones with Bill Israel” – Feb 3, 10 +17

The objective of these sessions is to create a comfortable, secure opportunity for individuals to speak openly about their personal “spiritual history”.  The Talking Circle process is structured, simple and open-ended. Everyone who chooses to do so will be given an opportunity to talk about their Personal Spiritual Steppingstones. Each of the three sessions will vary in theme:

Feb 3:    “Spiritual Steppingstones of my life”.
Feb 10:  “My spiritual values”.
Feb 17:  “The spiritual expression of my life”

Please feel free to attend one, two or all three  sessions.   Each session will have a similar process, but a slightly different theme.

About Bill Israel:  In addition to being a Certified Facilitator of the INTENSIVE JOURNAL program, Bill is a trained group and family therapist and a former church pastor. He is well experienced in group process and the facilitation of Talking Circles.

On  March 6th at 1:30 p.m. in the Yellow Room at the Church of Truth, Bill will be offering a free two hour introduction to Intensive Journal Program.  This two hour workshop will introduce the objectives and methods used for the Intensive Journal workshop on March 18 to 21.   Bill will also be leading  two weekend workshops in Intensive Journal at the Church of Truth: Mar 19 + 20, 2016 (Fri and Sat) LIFE CONTEXT (Part 1) and Mar 21 + 22, 2016 (Sun and Mon) DEPTH CONTACT (Part 2).  For more info, please visit:  billisrael.org and http://billisrael.org/blog/

About The Talking Circle:   The Talking Circle sessions are meditative occasions to speak about the highlight of your spiritual journey to this point of your life – and hear the same from others. Many spiritual “seekers” have found the Talking Circle to be affirming and often personally revealing.  It is a “sacred” experience to speaking openly, and listen with compassion, to those expressing the humanity of their spiritual life experience.  It is not a counseling session. There will be no judgmental interaction, doctrinal “guidance” or debate.

“You are not a human being in search of a spiritual experience. You are a spiritual being immersed in a human experience.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin

The Mystery of Crop Circles  (and an intimate visit to Stonehenge) with John Vanden Heuvel – Feb 24

We’ll have a close look at the last 15 years of crop circles in the Wiltshire, UK countryside. The incredible beauty of the sacred geometry designs that are manifested overnight in the barley and grain fields. The ‘who’ is doing this ? ; the ‘how’ are they done ? ; and the ‘why’ ? – will be explored with lots of Q&A . . . . however there will not be any clear and definitive answers, since CC remain a mystery. Nevertheless, do come and be open to be amazed at the beauty of these manifestations. As a small but interesting extra, Stonehenge (one of the Western World’s most sacred sites) will be visited . . .from within, where normally, the general public is not allowed.

About John Vanden Heuvel:    John has been fascinated by the true perfection and beauty of crop circles for 20 years. Just a few years ago, he went to England in July and visited numerous circles, some that were less than 24 hours old. He has travelled widely around the world, (as a volunteer English teacher), now making his home in Victoria, summer living in Nelson, BC.

-Creating an inner workshop
-releasing and problem solving from all levels of yourself

The techniques used are lightly self-hypnotic, helping a person to entrain deeper brain wave states than a normal beta consciousness.
